News and Future Events

This year we are celebrating our 35th birthday. We would like any parents/children who attended the nursery over the years to contact us or look us up on Facebook.

Halloween 2008
Halloween 2008 once again we held our annual Halloween party which as usual was very well supported by children, parents and friends. The children had a great time play Pass the pumpkin, Yuck dip, Eat the dangling doughnuts and a fancy dress competition.

Summer Party 2008
In the summer of 2008 we held our first summer party in the park. All the children had a great time taking part in ball games running events. This was as wonderful opportunity for all the parents to met up and make new friends.

Art Week 2008
To celebrate the 35th anniversary the children worked with local artist Karen Frandsen to create four murals for our garden each one representing the four seasons. the children had a wonderful time drawing, painting and talking to Karen about what they wanted to do. Karen said "I had a superb time working with the children they were a genuine pleasure to work with".

The nursery opened in 1972, we are celebrating our 35th birthday this year and recently had a 70's night. We enjoyed meeting old staff and parents and reminiscing about the "good old days". Everybody had fun dancing and singing to all the old songs.

Halloween 2007
Every year we hold a free event to celebrate Halloween. This is held on a Friday evening 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. Children are encouraged to dress up and prizes are given to the best costumes. We have bob the apple, pass the pumpkin, face painting, drawing and eat the doughnut of the string. This event is very well supported by children and parents who have left; it is lovely to see all the old children come back.

Carnival
We celebrate carnival each year promoting culture and traditions from the Caribbean. Each year we have a theme and parents help their child to make a costume to wear in the parade. We celebrate this by having a party in our garden with a carnival tea, steel band and calypso music.

The Ugly Bug Ball
For the last two years we have held a fun day called the ugly bug ball. Children are encouraged to come dressed as a bug and prizes are given to the best costumes. We have a local person who brings insects and small reptiles for the children to hold.
